So…sorry for the silence over the past few days. My husband just got home after a long time away and we were enjoying all of our sweet family time. I got to be a part of a live recording that he was doing, and we were able to attend a few Fourth of July parties together!
Miles really, really wanted a sparkler…
I’m only 2 weeks from being considered full-term, which is so wonderful. We just had our home visit with our amazing midwife and birth assistants. She spent 2 hours here planning out where we would put the birthing tub, letting her get familiar with our house, and just talking through the specifics of the labor and delivery.
One thing I keep loving about working with her is her commitment to being a part of what we want, rather than telling us how things will go. “This is YOUR birth, YOUR baby.” she always says…love her.
I’ll be testing for Group B Strep next week, so in preparation, I’ve been taking a probiotic for the past few weeks called FemDophilus. My midwife has found extremely effective at killing the strep, if it were to be living in my body. Even though I get a lot of probiotics in my body daily from kombucha, homemade raw yogurt, and fermented veggies, the strains of bacteria that are present in the FemDophilus are the ones that effectively target Group B Strep, so I added it to my daily routine just as a precautionary measure!
Click the pic to order from Amazon:There are some who choose not to test for the strep because it automatically means antibiotics in the hospital if you test positive, which about 25-30% of women do. However, thanks to the flexibility of using a midwife, if I am to test positive, we will work together to get rid of it naturally, and avoid those nasty antibiotics altogether!
Funny huh? Mainstream’s solution is antibiotics…while the natural, even more effective method is PRObiotics. Another reason to love using a midwife!
Oh, and we FINALLY decided on a name for the sweet girl…still a secret for now!
live well. be well.
